The following symptoms require immediate consultation with an ophthalmologist:
- Red or painful eye
- Flashes and floaters
- Sudden vision loss
- Chemical injury to the eye
- Foreign body or eye irritation
- Double vision
- Post-operative patients with pain, vision loss, nausea and vomitting, discharge, or increased redness
What do I do?
Contact your ophthalmologist immediately. If your ophthalmologist is not immediately available to assist or direct you, report to the nearest emergency room.
